| 内容記述 | Abstract : Inoue (2005) proposed the following aspects with regard to environmental educationin liberal arts classes at university level : (1) an in-depth knowledge of specific environmentalissues is more effective in achieving the educational goals than superficial knowledge onbroad issues ; (2) practical devices are necessary to make students aware of the fact thatenvironmental issues concern all persons, including them, and (3) the goals of environmentaleducation and the methods employed to achieve them are important regardless of the subjecttitle. The abovementioned proposals should also be applied to the liberal arts subjects includedin training courses for early childhood educators in junior colleges, because libral artssubjects offer students the singular opportunity to study the environment as part of theircourse. The analysis of syllabi gathered from 149 junior colleges offering training courses forearly childhood educators revealed that the syllabi of only a few subjects corresponded to thepoints mentioned above. Environmental education for students enrolled in training courses for early childhood educators is important because, in the future, they will need to impartenvironmental education to the young children that they teach. Therefore, teachers of liberalarts subjects should improve the content and methods of their courses from the viewpoint ofenvironmental education. | |||||
